We provide specialist care for people who have a life limiting illness in our 14-bedroom ward, located in Pontefract just minutes from Junction 32 of M62. We also offer outreach services and run a successful Lymphoedema clinic for patients.

We currently have a vacancy for a Health Care Assistant to join our team.  As a Health Care Assistant within the Hospice you will assist in delivering basic care and other patient related clinical activities under the supervision or as directed by a Registered Nurse. You will also provide support to carers and colleagues within the clinical environment. The holistic support we offer to our patients is tailored to meet their medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, forward thinking and who can communicate effectively.  The successful candidate will also have a caring attitude, be enthusiastic and willing to learn. By joining our fantastic Hospice team we’ll help you to develop your specialist end of life care skills, knowledge and experience.

Applying for this role

To be considered for this role you must have an NVQ level 2 in a care related subject, or equivalent i.e. Care Certificate and end of life care experience. An NVQ Level 3 is desirable.

This role also requires an Enhanced DBS Check.  Following an initial DBS check, successful recruits will be required to subscribe to the DBS Update Service at their own cost (currently £16 annual payment).
