Bank Registered Nurse

Location: The Prince of Wales Hospice, WF8 4BG

Hours: Bank (flexible, as and when required)

At The Prince of Wales Hospice, we provide specialist palliative care in a supportive and respectful environment. Our 14-bed inpatient unit, located just minutes from Junction 32 of the M62 in Pontefract, also offers outpatient and community services, including a successful Lymphoedema clinic.

About the Role

As Bank Registered Nurse, you will play an important role in delivering compassionate, person-centred care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and supporting those important to them. Working flexibly to meet service needs, you will provide skilled nursing care, contribute to symptom management and work alongside our multidisciplinary team to ensure patients receive the highest standards of care, comfort and dignity.

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is not only clinically skilled but also deeply empathetic and committed to the Hospice values.

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration and a commitment to maintaining professional standards.
  • Have strong knowledge of infection control and evidence-based practice.
  • Be confident working independently whilst recognising when to seek advice or escalate concerns.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with patients, families, volunteers and colleagues.
  • Be comfortable supporting patients with complex, life-limiting conditions and providing holistic end-of-life care.

This bank role offers flexibility and hours to suit your availability.

Successful candidates will be added to our ‘bank’ list of workers.  As such you will not be an employee of the Hospice but from time to time we may call upon you to work for us to provide cover. Inclusion on our ‘bank’ list does not affect your right to work elsewhere and to be listed on other casual work lists without hindrance. Any offer of work is made purely at the discretion of the Hospice, and the Hospice is under no obligation to offer further work in the future.
