The Prince of Wales Hospice provides care to adults with a life-limiting illness,
such as cancer, chronic heart or lung disease. The Hospice helps people live as
well as possible with their illness and also cares for people at the end of their
life. Our charity shops play a key role in helping us engage with our local
community.
We are looking for people just like you, to help us. Whatever time or skills you
can give you can make a difference to our patients by volunteering with us
today. Volunteers touch every aspect of what we do, and we would not be able
to continue our vital work without their diverse and valuable contributions.
We have stores all over the five towns district: Castleford, Featherstone, Fitzwilliam, Hemsworth, Kippax, Knottingley, Normanton, Pontefract, South Elmsall, Online Retail (Castleford)
Tasks may include:
Encouraging donors to Giftaid
Keeping the shop clean and tidy
Putting out stock
Assisting with stock rotation
Tidying the rails
Greeting customers
Answering customer enquiries
Keeping an eye on shop security
Giving people a greater understanding of the work PWH do
Being an excellent ambassador of PWH
Working within a team
Customer service
Merchandising and quality control
Good communication skills
Listening skills
Helpful and friendly attitude

When
It is entirely up to you how much time you want to
give. Most of our shops open Monday to Sunday,
9am to 4.30pm. You can choose to do a morning or
afternoon, a full day, or a couple of shifts per week.
